No punching die required! Example of laser tab cutting on electrode foil
The lead wire used to extract electricity from the inside of a battery cell, such as a lithium battery, is called a TAB. The current collector for the positive electrode is generally aluminum foil and the current collector for the negative electrode is generally copper foil. This is an introduction of a technology for laser cutting and forming TABs while conveying Al foil or Cu foil with Roll to Roll. The general manufacturing method is mainly a press method, which requires replacement of the die when the die life or shape is changed. Lasers eliminate such needs and can easily form any shape.
