Can this lead to modern technology for surface modification? The Challenge of Nano-Periodic Structure LIPSS

Nano periodic structures have been attracting attention in recent years as a technology for surface modification. The effect is to add functionality to the surface without changing the material, such as water repellency, conversely, water immersion, or coloration, thus allowing for a wider range of applications. While many papers have been published on Laser-Induced Periodic Surface Structures (LIPSS) with a femtosecond laser, this is an inexpensive picosecond laser – “Let’s do it!” Yes! Let us do it!” And so, we tried it. Perhaps this is my talent, the color is the same green as the laser wavelength. I’m impressed.

Ⅱ.Such a beautiful color…

This pretty green is wonderful.

「Oh, it’s pretty color.」
「It is very difficult to achieve the same coloring as the laser wavelength. How about +20 points?」
「+20 points? What are you talking about?」
「Well…Can you count this as a part of the company’s evaluation?」
「Isn’t the customer’s request black-marking?」
「”Yes. But it is hard to get green, so I thought I would give it a high score. 」
「No, it’s black! Minus 20 points~」
