High capacity lithium-ion batteries! Laser drilling of a whole electrode

WIRED Co., Ltd. , a technology-based venture company that specializes in microfabrication technology, has developed a technology for continuously drilling a large number of microscopic holes in the electrode material of lithium (Li) ion secondary batteries using a laser. The use of the drilled electrode material makes it easy to “pre-dope” lithium ions, which is essential for increasing the capacity of next-generation lithium-ion batteries.
