Laser continuous drilling technology to electrodes enables lithium-ion predoping!!
Our company’s roll-to-roll laser drilling machine achieves high-speed continuous microporing technology and provides a high level of accuracy in the drilling process. We have drilled into the silicon-based negative electrode, which has more than 10 times the capacity of the graphite-based negative electrode material.
With the cooperation of Yamagata University, which boasts a high track record in the field of lithium-ion secondary batteries (LIB), we have cured battery performance evaluation.
In addition to demonstrating the cancellation of irreversible capacity by drilling holes in the electrodes, we have realized processing of electrodes using a new material that is expected to significantly increase the capacity of lithium-ion batteries.
In the future, we expect to utilize this technology to significantly put the energy density of lithium-ion secondary batteries (LIB) into practical use.
